This chapter gives a brief description of cranial sutures, irregular and quite variable articulations which are separated by the sutural ligament or membrane. Anatomically, they have been classified based on their appearance: (a) serrate sutures, such as the sagittal suture; (b) denticulate sutures, such as the lambdoid suture; (c) limbous suture or squamous suture; and (d) plane suture, such as the articulation between the palatine and zygomatic bones. © The Author(s) 2021.
