To investigate the long-term outcome of 203 patients with osteoporotic vertebra fractures who were treated with percutaneous kyphoplasty (PKP) technique under local\ranesthesia. Magnetic resonance and Computed Tomography Image results were used and correlated with clinical presentations to identify the symptomatic vertebral\racute fracture levels. Percutaneous kyphoplasty was performed under local anesthesia/sedation technique in these patients. During the follow-up, pain symptoms were\rrecorded on a self-reported visual analog scale (VAS). 203 patients (78 males and 125 females) with traumatic osteoporotic vertebral fractures in our clinic between 2015\rand 2020. Patients’ VAS scores significantly decreased from 8.48±1.1 to 3.30±1.89 after 10 days of treatment (p<0.0001). This clinical improvement was consistent over\rthree years of follow up (2.92±1.73, p<0.0001). 15 patients were lost at-follow-up and adjacent or distant adjacent level symptomatic fractures occurred in 11 patients.\rAll the symptomatic re-fractures were also treated with PKP technique. Percutaneous kyphoplasty displayed very good long-term efficiency and safety in patients with\rosteoporotic vertebral fractures over 3 years of follow-up. This method can be safely performed under local anesthesia with a low rate of newly formed symptomatic\radjacent level fractures.
